Elk Nation is selling bricks for display at the Athletic Complex.
On this sunny day, we’re shining a spotlight on 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Leo! She is entering her fifth year in the classroom – all here in Elkton. One of her favorite movies is the 1994 classic, Dumb and Dumber (Big Gulps, huh?). When asked what the funniest thing a student has said in her classroom is, she shared that a child once asked her, “what’s your job?” After Mrs. Leo explained, the student informed her that she was lucky to get paid to be at school. Shooting free throws (just shooting them or shooting and making them?) is a hidden talent of hers, she enjoys puzzles, and One Direction is her jam.
Thank you, Mrs. Leo, for all you do for your students and Elkton School!

Today we held our 3- and 4-Year-Old Development Screening. We enjoyed meeting with our youngest learners and their families. Children who attended the screening received a Literacy Bag filled with simple ideas and activities families can use at home to help prepare children for preschool and kindergarten. Reading together, talking and building language, practicing with crayons, and learning to use scissors appropriately are all great ways to build important early learning skills. A special thank-you to our FACS Leadership Class for helping assemble the literacy bags and their help with screening today. We appreciate our families’ partnership in preparing our youngest learners for success!
