Another change this summer:
The blue and yellow playground located west of the school has found a new home.
With the completion of the new playground on the east side of the school, the blue and yellow playground and swings were removed and relocated to the Rolland Colony school.
At this time, future plans for this area are still in the works.

No increase prices for students K-6 Breakfast $1.75, Lunch - $2.85. Jr Hi/Hi Breakfast - $1.75, Lunch - $3.15, Second Entrée $1.15. Adult prices will increase to Adults - $2.50breakfast & $4.35 lunch. Salad & Milk - $.35. Motion by Schuurman, 2nd Blasius, All Approved.
Pass prices are $27 Student passes & $37 single adult with $65 per couple. At the door will remain the same with $3 for students, $5 for adults for doubleheaders $5 for students & $8 for adults

Big changes happening in the locker room and bathroom remodel area.
-The studs for walls and lockers are being installed.
-A big delivery of brick occurred on Monday. Old doorways are being bricked shut and new dividing walls are being constructed.

-The cement for the locker room and bathroom floors has been poured. Studs have begun to be installed.
-Door B2 is being updated.

-Doorways are being bricked shut.
-Plumbing has been laid in the floor. All that tubing you see sticking up is places for sinks, toilets and showers. The next step is to pour the new floor.

-Carpet has been installed in the 1991 elementary classrooms. Next step is cabinetry and blinds.
-Work on the bathroom and locker room area continues. It’s all one big open space now! Crews cut through 9 inches of concrete to begin the plumbing portion of the project.
Parents/Guardians of students with special needs - check out this incredible opportunity to participate in adaptive soccer in Brookings!
The local soccer club, SoDak Spurs, will be starting an adaptive soccer program for children ages 4 to 10 with intellectual, emotional, or physical disabilities. This is exciting news for the community because this program will serve an age group that currently does not have many activity options! The Spurs plan on kick-off this program the weekend of July 14th with a FREE session at the Fishback Soccer Complex. This will be a great opportunity to give it a try and have some familiarity with the program before the fall season starts. To help the soccer club contact you with more details, they are asking for you to complete this form. They have assured us that this information will not be used for anything other than TOPSoccer. Please take a few minutes to provide your information and enable them to be properly prepared to launch this exciting new program in Brookings.

Construction and remodeling is moving forward...and at a faster pace now that students are out of the building.
The Kindergarten through second grade classrooms had cabinetry torn out today. These classrooms will be getting a fresh coat of paint, new cabinetry, and new carpet.
The demo on the locker rooms and high school bathroom continues. You can now enter the girls' bathroom and pass through athletic storage, the boys' locker room, and the girls' locker room.

Congratulations to these 8th grade students who earned their Certificate of Work Ethic Proficiency during CAPS class this spring! All 8th grade students completed the Bring Your 'A' Game course to learn about developing and demonstrating a positive work ethic. Those earning the certificate had to pass the Work Ethic Proficiency exam with at least a 90% and now list this credential on their resume. Great job Melanie, Madde, Maddisyn, Dailynn, Aron, Eli, Joseph, Caden, David, Felicity, Angie, Lola, Rozy, Gabby, Malyha, and Sydney (not pictured)!!
