Our Band Banquet is tonight!
Serving of the free-will donation spaghetti supper will begin at 6:00pm, with band performances beginning at 6:30pm. Dinner will be served throughout the performances or once the food is gone. Performances will be in the north gym. All bands will be taking part, including the community band.
Each year during the winter, the entryway at B2 swells causing the door not to close. I am happy to say a new entry and door will be installed! Mills Construction will be here this week to do so. This will require the doors to be removed and the entryway to be repoured. They are hoping to be done with the project in a few weeks.
Starting on Wednesday afternoon (11/16), the following dismissal procedures will occur until further notice:
-Students will exit door B1 (by the art room). We will shift our standing lines down and around to the North sidewalk.
Starting on Thursday morning (11/17), the following arrival procedures will occur until further notice:
-All students will arrive at the front door, door A3. Parents and buses will drop off at this location.

Due to the changes in the school schedule next week, the following menu changes will take place:
Thursday, November 17th will be Goulash.
Tuesday, November 22nd will be the Thanksgiving meal.
Congratulations to the Lady Elks Volleyball Team,
As many of you are aware, the volleyball team has qualified for the state tournament which is being held in Sioux Falls beginning on Thursday, November 17th and running through Saturday, November 19th.
We considered a couple of options for school on Thursday and Friday but based on the number of staff members that indicated their intentions to attend the tournament, adequately staffing the school would have been very challenging on Friday.
We have decided to dismiss school at 2:15 pm on Thursday. Friday, school will be canceled.
Good luck to the Lady Elks Volleyball team, we are very proud of your accomplishment so far this season, we wish you the best of luck at the State A Tournament, back to back state appearances!

Day of the Dead was Nov. 2. It is a holiday to celebrate, honor, and remember those who have died. Students in 7-12 Applied Language Development classes made posters of ofrendas (altars) honoring a family member or friend who has died. The hallway by the applied language classroom has all the beautiful ofrendas, so stop by and check out the hard work done by Mrs. Wold's classes if you are in the building!
School will dismiss at 2:15 pm on Tuesday, November 8th to allow students, staff and parents time to travel to the volleyball game at 6pm in Mitchell.
