On June 10th, 2024, the Elkton school board approved the surplus of a 2002 fourteen-passenger school bus (VIN number is 1GBHG31R621221150). The bus has 123,027 miles and can be viewed outside the bus garage located near the intersection of 1st Street and Beaver St.

All bids must be received by 1 pm on July 11th. Bids will be opened at the board meeting held on July 11th at 6pm. The school board reserves the right to accept or reject all bids.

Due to the resignation of Derek Frerichs from the Elkton School Board, a special board meeting will be held on July 8th to interview and appoint a replacement. School board policies BBC, BBE, and BBEA detail how the board will handle this vacancy and can be found on the school website. An application form may be obtained at the school business office or on the school website if you wish to apply for this opening. All applications are due to the business manager by mail or in person by July 8th at 1 PM. The business manager will contact those that have applied to have them attend the special meeting and be interviewed by the school board. Come out and cheer on the Lady Elks Softball team as they head to State in Aberdeen! They will head down Elk Street on Wednesday, May 29 at 9:45 a.m.
Their first game is on Thursday, May 30 at 10:00 a.m. against Castlewood at the Players Softball Complex.

Elkton Schools keeps student cumulative record files for 5 years following graduation, in accordance with state standards. At the end of that time, those records are destroyed and the information kept is a record of attendance and transcript of grades. Cumulative records for the Class of 2018 and Class of 2019 are set to be destroyed this summer. If you are a member of the Class of 2018 or 2019 and would like to keep your file, please call or email Bonnie Yackley at the school. Those files not claimed by August 2024 will be destroyed. Thank you!
